Advancing the Profession of Permit Technicians
Since our inception, CAPT has been at the forefront of advocating for permit technicians across California. We provide the resources, education, and support necessary to ensure that every community receives the high-quality service delivery it deserves. Our mission is to bridge the gap between complex building codes and efficient permit processing through methodical advocacy and professional excellence.
What is CAPT?
The California Association of Permit Technicians (CAPT) is a statewide professional community dedicated to supporting Permit Technicians and others working in similar roles through connection, collaboration, and professional growth. CAPT provides members with opportunities to build valuable industry relationships, share resources and best practices, and participate in trainings, workshops, and educational discussions designed to strengthen both personal and professional development. Whether you are new to the profession or an experienced industry professional, CAPT offers a welcoming network committed to helping members succeed and grow together.
CAPT regularly meets monthly every 2nd Wednesday from 3:30PM - 4:30PM via Teams.
How do I join?
To become a member of CAPT, please complete our Membership Application by clicking HERE or by submitting the form provided on this page.
Once your application has been reviewed and approved, you will receive a welcome email with instructions on how to complete your registration and access member benefits.
How much is membership?
CAPT offers two membership levels: Basic and Premium. Basic Membership is available at no cost, while Premium Membership is offered for $25 per person, until the end of 2026. In December 2026, CAPT will announce its 2027 membership.
